Jacob`s Well
Jacob`s Well near Samaria. This is the site of Jesus` conversation with the woman of Samaria. The broken marble belongs to an ancient church on this site.(A photograph by R E M Bain in about 1890).

Palace
The remains of the colonnaded hall in the palace of Herod the Great, on the hilltop of Samaria. As a compliment to Caesar Augustus he changed the name of his city Samaria to Sebaste, from the Greek word for Augustus.. An early photograph.
